We organize events and mentoring platforms designed to equip Indigenous People with an understanding of our core values and foundational framework. Some platforms are designed as spaces of sanctuary for solidarity to process, heal, grow, and develop collective expertise built on this framework. Collaborative capacity-building and mentoring is designed to equip and mobilize a growing team to accomplish all other services of CSRS. The Cariboo Centre for Healing and Hope has served as a faithful partner in supporting these efforts. These include:
~Indigenous Bible Journeys Online Study Groups (weekly) – safe space to experience Biblical truth from Indigenous worldview and deconstruct colonial contradictions to Biblical truth & grace.
~Indigenous Prayer Time (weekly) – a safe space of sanctuary for solidarity to share and pray about painful experiences with religious abuse, institutional trauma, or just to share our prayer needs with others of similar life experiences.
~Our Journeys of Hope Indigenous Spiritual Gathering (annually) – a spiritual nourishment weekend event organized by Indigenous People for Indigenous People and humble allies. People gather together as families to share personal testimony, engage with wellness support, enjoy music, fun and fellowship.
~First Nation Leadership Empowerment Workshops (upon request) – a place to grow together learning from other Indigenous People living in covenant with Creator how to journey into the service of leadership, walking alongside others in reconciliation.
~Allyship Preparation Workshops (upon request) – a pathway experience for settlers who want to humbly engage in repurposing their privilege to support the reconciliation work of others ready to invest in repairing the damage of colonial “Christianity” among Indigenous People.
~ Truth to Reconcile Presentations (upon request) – an introductory presentation series for people interested in learning more about a Reconciliation Ministry approach to building relationships with Indigenous communities from a trauma-informed Biblical framework. It includes a dramatic presentation called “Taking the Name” by the Dennis Family, accompanied by follow-up debrief with the audience. The presentation topics include Empire Building as the Root of Colonial “christianity”, Biblical Reconciliation, a Reconciliation Ministries Report, and Ministry Resources Developed by Indigenous People.
~Dimensions of Reconciliation Workshops (upon request) – a 4-part experiential training experience designed to unpack the complex dynamics of cross-cultural relations. Participants will be equipped to effectively engage in truth and reconciliation with Indigenous communities. Session 1 addresses the complexities of self and others through the framework of Intersectional Identity. Session 2 addresses the dynamics at play with power & privilege. Session 3 guides participants into an authentic awareness of how implicit bias invisibly develops and influences all relationships. Session 4 will equip participants to navigate through reconciliation effectiveness by humbly engaging in the work of trauma stewardship.
~Decolonize: Indigenous Holistic Wellness Conference (upon request) – a professional wellness conference developed by Indigenous Wellness Professionals for Indigenous People, addressing dynamics of decolonizing the full human experience of mind, body, spirit and social/environmental relationships.
