Foundational Framework

Our framework or “pathway” to healing, thriving, and leading is rooted in the principles of a culturally contextualized interpretation of the whole Bible with which the traditional teachings of many Indigenous People of North America aligned prior to the influence of colonization. We believe that Bible teachings are the guide for that pathway. Our Creator is calling us to be faithful to His traditional pathway instituted at Earth’s Creation that was designed for us to thrive collectively in mind, body, spirit and relationships to nature and others. We call the process of getting back onto that pathway – decolonization. It involves coming out of distorted and artificial outward forms of “christianity” that are rooted in contradictory interpretations of the Bible about Creator and Creation. Decolonizing involves a process of deconstructing colonial “christianity” and sifting out counterfieit teachings and traditions created by humans that are contradictory to Creator’s Love.

These principles with which we’ve woven our framework include:

Decolonizing Our Mind: This includes progressive healing from the generational impact of trauma, addictions,  lifestyle imbalance, the façade of self-sufficiency, and any mindset that drives us away from our Creator’s design for collaborative community. A decolonizing mind will recognize the value of Creator’s design and purpose for oneself and others, resting in Creator’s life calling, chosen way, and faithful provision in order to contribute meaningfully to the rest of creation.

Decolonizing Our Body: This includes progressive healing from a distorted image of self as a fragmented,  disjointed individual in the immediate world. It involves reconnecting with Creator’s intention for us to experience balanced, harmonious intrapersonal and interpersonal wholeness in harmony with the natural world and understanding our generational impact. A decolonizing body will be treated as sacred, filled only with that which nurtures wholeness in life according to Creator’s chosen way for humanity (water, healing habits, outdoor air, love, environmental stewardship, nutritious whole & living foods, exercise, sleep, sunshine).

Decolonizing Our Spirit: This includes progressive healing from distorted religious teachings rooted in colonial “christianity” that contradict the Bible, which is the printed Word of Creator. A culturally contextualized understanding of the Bible actually confirms many core teachings of precolonial Indigenous worldview and lifestyle that functioned harmoniously with creation. A decolonizing spirit will seek to understand and walk in Creator’s truth, while choosing to embody Creator’s chosen way of love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control through every facet of their life.

Decolonizing Our Relationships: This includes progressive healing from living individualistically for self to instead seeking harmony with others through community and with the natural environment gifted for us by Creator. It involves investing in sustainable resource use that honors the sacredness of all created life on earth. A decolonizing relationship with nature and others will humbly engage in faithful reconciliation wherever it is evident that a debt for one’s profit is owed.
